Hemp Milk

One of our favorite starts to the day is a nutritious smoothie that is packed with berries, Vega powder (our personal favorite), hemp or chia seeds, and maca powder. Because of all the smoothie-making it seems like we go through almond, soy or other vegan milks like water.

We have started making this quick and easy recipe for raw hemp milk. It is great for using over breakfast cereals, in smoothies, or on its own accompanied by a freshly baked cookie.


4 cups water
1/3 cup One Degree Organics Hemp Seeds
2 large medjool dates or other sweetener of choice
1/4 tsp vanilla powder
Pinch of salt


Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 2-3 minutes until it is smooth and no longer gritty.

Pour the milk through a cheesecloth into a pitcher to strain out any remaining grits or chunks. *

Add more salt, sweetener or vanilla to taste.

Chill and enjoy!


*I used my Vitamix blender and it reached a smooth milk consistency without having to do the extra step of pouring through a cheesecloth.
