Oats

Willie & Anna Peters

For Willie Peters, farming has always been a part of his life. He grew up farming, raised by a family of farmers that dates back generations. Willie intends to live the farm life until he retires. “As long as my health is good,” he tells us. “I love the country life, it’s peaceful—and farming helps me stay young.”

Willie and his family manage over 1750 acres of land in La Crête, Alberta—and they’re happy to do it. According to Willie, there’s no shortage of good days on the farm. When we asked him what makes the good days good? He reminds us that life is about simple pleasures. “You’re alive, you’ve got your health, and you’re just thankful for what you have.”

When you meet Willie, it’s clear he has a love for farming—from the lifestyle he shares with his family, to the opportunity to provide for others. To him, it’s the whole package. “I just want to make a decent honest living, and I’m proud to grow high-quality crop so people can eat healthier.”

As much as Willie cares about growing high-quality oats, he cares just as much about his health, and the health of those around him. That is why farming organically is so important to the Peters family, so that they can share naturally grown, healthy foods with families all over. “We like to build the land up naturally,” says Willie. “It’s the way we roll.”

We are proud to use Willie Peters’ oats in One Degree Organics sprouted oat products. It’s our way of helping bring our shared passion for healthy, organic foods to kitchens just like yours.
